Open Edition Fine Art Prints

Lindy's paintings and drawings are professionally printed to order in varied sizes and media. Mats and frames give you more options, and our wall preview tools can help you visualize the art in your space. Ground shipping is free within the USA. Due to PANDEMIC slowdowns, please allow 15 business days production time for your open edition print order, plus shipping time. Is this a gift? On request, we'll snail mail an elegant, hand-written complimentary notecard with that artwork on it announcing your gift and letting the recipient know their special gift will be arriving soon.

We offer LOTS of choices!

  • consider duplicating the original surface. Most of Lindy's original art, including oil paintings are done on smooth surfaces, making smooth fine art paper an appropriate medium. Watercolors look even more textured on watercolor paper.  Some of Lindy's oils are on rough canvas, so we'll suggest canvas for those. The default medium shown will be that closest to what the original is on.
  • will glare affect viewing? Go with canvas, metal or acrylic so you don't have to use glass or acrylic glazing over the artwork (art on paper should always be covered with some type of glazing for protection. Museum glass is non-reflective, so that's a great, if pricey option, but not one we offer here. We can only frame these prints under fine art acrylic.
  • what's you decorating style? Classic dictates framed canvas or matted fine art paper. Contemporary will relish the sleek look and vibrant colors of an unframed print on metal or acrylic. Rustic can handle a rich wood panel. Our wall preview tools can help you decide what works for your space.
  • fit your budget as well as your wall As you build your custom print, you'll be able to see how each option affects the cost. The price of the smallest size in that art's default medium will display first. Go back and forth all you want. Paper is the least expensive option, but must be framed; our gallery-wrapped canvas has finished edges all around and can be hung unframed if desired; metal and acrylic and wood are all stand-alone wall art.
  • mats and frames add significantly to the wall footprint of your print You can see framed outer dimensions on the wall preview, regardless of whether you choose to have us do the framing
  • Our wall preview feature will show you what the art will look like hanging, actual size. You can even preview it on your own wall! Play around with these choices all you want. Choosing is half the fun: opening your box, then hanging your custom printed artwork initiates the joy surrounding yourself with art you love can bring into your life.

Your art will ship directly from the North Carolina printing house. Great things take time. Because each fine art print is a custom order, please allow between five (normal) to fifteen (pandemic slowdowns) business days production time, plus up to a week for free ground shipping. Add-on expedited shipping options are available at checkout. Since these prints aren't made in the studio, there's is no way to speed up production time. If your artwork is a gift, email Lindy and request she mail the recipient a handwritten fine art card explaining the art is being created and shipped. We print your chosen artwork on the front of the card. (People love these!)

Mats are only offered in soft white. If you want a double mat or colors, select the Just the Print option. Your framer can help you customize it.

Open Editions have no second artist signature or numbering added to the margin. Lindy's original signature will already be on the art being reproduced. While there is, by definition no limit to the number of prints that can be made from a painting image, Lindy's prints are reproduced only as custom orders and never printed in bulk.

Looking for something one-of-a-kind?  Consider an Enhanced Print instead of an Open Edition.

What's the difference between an Enhanced Print and an Open Edition Print?

  • Enhanced Prints are the more expensive of the two types but only available on smooth fine art paper in a handful of standard sizes
  • Open Editions are offered in several surfaces (media) and sizes, allowing you a wider price range with customized choices
  • Open Editions are the same format (shape) as the original art
  • Enhanced Prints are cropped to fit a handful of standard proportions and come in only a few sizes
  • Enhanced Prints are presented in off-white conservation mats to fit readymade frames; we don't frame them
  • Open Editions can be ordered matted and framed, matted only, or as Just the Print; some media don't need mats or frames at all
  • Enhanced Prints are meticulously hand-repainted on top of the print ,making each a unique artwork with Lindy's signature added
  • Open Edition Prints are professionally reproduced from the original art without any further attention from Lindy
  • Enhanced Prints are usually printed in the studio and ship directly from Lindy ;they may be slightly faster to arrive
  • Open Editions are printed by Graphik Dimensions and ship directly from the printing house in North Carolina

Verified Archival Materials Used

The Art Storefronts Organization has verified that this Art Seller has published information about the archival materials used to create their products in an effort to provide transparency to buyers.

Description from Merchant:

We want Lindy Cook Severns art to last for generations. All prints, whether open editions or uniquely embellished remarques are done on with archival (acid-free, non-reactive) ink and papers and matted in acid-free matboard. Original art, from the smallest drawings and watercolors to the largest oils and pastel paintings are done on archival surfaces. Lindy uses the highest grade pigments in each medium. Light-fastness of pigments is further protected by covering all but all paintings in artist grade UV protective glazing, whether glass or acrylic. Conservation framing on original art means no reactive materials come in contact with the artwork, so all tape and backing boards are acid free and create a barrier for the artwork.
