Open Edition Prints are professionally printed, each one a custom order. Size them to fit not only your wall, but your budget. For traditional wall art, print on fine art paper or museum grade canvas. Mats and/or frames are options when you order. Metal and acrylic give your wall contemporary color without needing frames. Wood is a decorative option for rustic chic. So many decisions? Wall preview tools help you visualize the art.Email Lindy with questions.
Tip: To see Frame Choices, select: 1 Medium | 2 Size | 3 Styles and then, under Styles, select Framed Print. Mat options will then appear along with several pages of frames for you to consider.
Free ground shipping to USA destinations, with Canadian shipments also available. These ship directly from the printer.
IS THIS A GIFT? On request, we'll mail a hand-written notecard of that artwork announcing your gift and explaining it's being produced especially for them and will arrive soon!
You have LOTS of choices! Lindy's Tips on Selecting a Medium For Your Print
- consider duplicating the original surface. Most of Lindy's original art is done on smooth surfaces, making smooth fine art paper always appropriate. Watercolors star on textured on watercolor paper. Consider textured canvas for oil paintings. The default medium shown will be that closest to what the original is on. Paper is the least expensive option.
- will glare affect viewing? Go with canvas or metal. Our canvas and metal prints have matte finishes; prints on acrylic will be glossy, and art on paper should always be covered with some type of glazing (glass or acrylic) for protection, which will reflect light. (Our framing automatically includes fine art acrylic glazing for prints on paper.) Museum glass is non-reflective, and that's a great, if pricier option, but unfortunately, not one we offer here. If you're going to use museum glass or colored mats, order Just the Print, then let your framer do the rest.
- what's you decorating style? Classic dictates canvas or matted fine art paper. Canvas with mirrored edges (the painting continues around the edges) doesn't need a frame, though it will happily accept one. Contemporary decor will relish the sleek look and vibrant colors of an unframed print on metal or acrylic. Rustic can handle a rich wood panel, though you will definitely lose the vibrancy and color pop of other media. Our wall preview tools can help you decide what works for your space.
- Outdoor installations, spa areas, kids' rooms? Think metal or acrylic. (RV's and cabanas love being adorned with bolt-to-the-wall acrylic prints)
- fit your budget as well as your wall As you build your custom print, you'll be able to see how each option affects the cost. The price of the smallest size in that art's default medium will display first. Go back and forth all you want. Paper is the least expensive option, but must be framed; our gallery-wrapped canvas has finished edges all around and can be hung unframed if desired; metal and acrylic and wood are all stand-alone wall art, already wired or bolted for hanging.
- Mats and frames add significantly to the footprint of your artwork. You can see framed outer dimensions by using the wall preview, regardless of whether you choose to have us do the framing. A small print matted and framed can easily double in size on your wall.
- Our WALL PREVIEW TOOL will show you what the art will look like hanging, actual size. You can even preview it on your own wall! Play around with these choices all you want. If you get lost, email Lindy for advice or help.
- Choosing may seem like half the fun, but opening your box, then hanging your custom printed art is the beginning of many years of pleasure from that art!

WHAT IS AN OPEN EDITION?
Open Editions have no second artist signature or numbering added to the margin. Lindy's original signature will already be on the art being reproduced. While there is, by definition no limit to the number of prints that can be made from a painting image, Lindy's prints are reproduced only as custom orders.
Looking for something truly one-of-a-kind, yet more affordable than an original? Consider an Enhanced Print instead of an Open Edition.
What's the difference between an Enhanced Print and an Open Edition Print?
- Enhanced Prints are extremely limited signed editions, each one a unique artwork and thus, the more expensive of the two types. They are only available on fine art paper.
- Open Editions are offered in several surfaces (media) allowing you a wider price range accordingly
- Open Editions are the same format (shape) as the original art and come in a wide range of sizes
- Enhanced Prints are cropped to fit a handful of standard proportions and only come in a few sizes
- Enhanced Prints are presented in off-white conservation mats to fit readymade frames; frames are not available within your order. We can have a conversation about ordering a custom frame for you separately for an additional fee.
- Open Editions can be ordered matted and or framed, or as Just the Print. Some media don't need mats or frames.
- Enhanced Prints are meticulously hand-repainted on top of the print ,making each a unique artwork with Lindy's signature added. Allow about 3 days production time.
- Open Edition Prints are professionally reproduced from the original art without further attention from the artist. Allow 5 to 10 days production time.
- Enhanced Prints ship directly from Lindy. Because they're printed in house, we can hurry it up for you somewhat.
- Open Editions are printed and ship directly from the printing house in North Carolina
