Each Open Edition print is a custom order: choose the surface & size the art to fit your wall and budget. Optimal sizes are listed; larger sizes on request. Give me a shout Open Editions & associated merch items ship directly from the printer to you.
If available, the original or limited edition (enhanced prints & signed editions) will also appear beside an image description.
Our largest and most affordable collection of art offers many options. Here are some hints to help you navigate:
- for Mat and/or Frame Choices scroll and select each option's dropdown menu to see choices available for that surface: 1 SURFACE | 2 SIZE | 3 PRESENTATION ( Mat and/or Frame)| 4 FINISHING -- Need help? Ask!
- Available sizes vary with each surface
- Optimal sizes for each artwork are listed. Larger sizes are available on request, with the understanding that some fine detail will be lost. (Usually not an issue, because very large art is generally viewed from a few feet away.)
- Is this a GIFT? Request a hand-written notecard of that artwork to announce your gift and explain it's being produced especially for them and will arrive soon. We'll snail mail it to you or the recipient! We can't gift wrap the print, however, because it will ship straight from the printer to the address you specify.
Tips on Selecting a Surface For Your Print: Selecting a surface will replace the artwork's picture with one showing it on the selected surface!
- smooth fine art paper: the default surface, heavy, archival, elegant and traditional (frame under glass or acrylic)
- watercolor paper: acid-free; heavy and textured, ideal for reproducing watercolors or as an affordable substitute for canvas (frame under glass or acrylic)
- canvas: museum grade; textured & coated with a protective finish; wired & ready to hang as is
- More expensive than paper, but doesn't require framing as the image is "mirrored" around the sides.
- Can also be framed, but no glass is necessary
- matte surface with little to no reflection
- metal or acrylic is modern and sleek: pricier but doesn't need protected by a glass coveringā
- order metal with no backing (this is a printed metal sheet that can be framed or propped on a shelf) or with backing and wired for hanging
- framing options are available (no glass needed)
- wood: sealed and ready to hang, doesn't need framing
- colors will not be as vivid on wood, but the rustic look can be be stunning
A Word About Reflections, Installation and Style:
- Glare from lots of windows? Prints on paper must be framed under a protective glazing surface (fine art acrylic glazing is automatically included if you order your paper print framed). Ordinary glass or acrylic glazing captures reflections. On small pieces this is insignificant, but may distract from large art or art in a room with lots of glassā
- Stop the Glaring: Custom frame your paper print on paper under non-reflective glazing: museum glass, clear anti-reflective glass, or TruVue museum acrylic . None of those are available on-site. How to do this? Order "Just the Print" and let a local framer do the rest. Or email Lindy for help.ā
- Avoid the Glaring Issue: prints on canvas or wood need no protective glazing
- What's your decorating style: Classic dictates canvas or paper. Contemporary loves metal and acrylic. Rustic enjoys wood. Use our wall preview tools to help you decide what works for your space.
- Outdoor installations, spa areas, kids' rooms? Go acrylic or metal.
- fit your budget along with your wall As you build your custom print, you'll be able to see how each option affects the cost. Think of it as a game and go back and forth all you want until you hit the perfect combination. Be sure to check the image and use the wall preview tools as you make changes. You can even see it in different frames!
- How big? Mats and frames add significantly to the footprint (wall size) of your art. Our wall preview tools display the art in the framed or matted dimensions -- even if the frame or mat doesn't display, the art will show true to that total size. A small print matted and framed can double in size on your wall.

WHAT IS AN OPEN EDITION?
Open Editions have no second artist signature, no numbering added to the margin but Lindy's original signature is already on the art being reproduced. Lindy's prints are reproduced singly, each as a custom order.
Looking for something truly one-of-a-kind? An elegant and unique artwork more affordable than an original? Consider an Enhanced Print, Limited Original. For a small but special gift, look at Signed Editions.
What's the difference between an Enhanced Print and an Open Edition Print?
- Enhanced Prints are extremely (way way extremely!) limited signed editions, each one a unique artwork with limited size options and only available on paper or canvas. Hand-repainted and detailed with pastels or oils on top of the print. Lindy paints out her original signature and adds a new one on the art.
- Open Editions are printed on demand on several surfaces and in a vast range of sizes. Lindy doesn't have a chance to sign them because they straight to you from the printer. But the signature is already there on the print, of course.ā
- Open Editions are the same format (shape) as the original artwork. Many are non-standard sizes that will require custom framing (which can be ordered as part of your print package.)
- Enhanced Prints may be cropped to fit standard proportions or may be proportional to the original art in standard and non-standard sizes.ā
-
- Open Editions can be ordered matted and/ or framed, or as "Just the Print". Canvas & metal don't need mats or frames, but can also be ordered conventionally framed
- Enhanced Prints in most small to middle sizes come in off-white non-reactive mats that fit readymade frames. Frames are NOT available within your order. Non-standard and large sizes are not matted. (We can have a conversation about ordering a custom frame for you separately, as an additional purchase.)ā
-
- Enhanced Prints take about 3-5 days production time for smaller, standard sizes, which are made on a fine art printer right in the studio. Larger ones and remarques on canvas can take up to a month, because we must first order the print made and shipped to the studio. Then comes time-intensive and extensive repainting to make it unique!
- Open Edition Prints are reproduced from the original art without further attention from the artist. Allow up to 5-14 days production time plus a week for shipping. Canvas & metal may take longer than paper, but not necessarily.
-
- Enhanced Prints ship directly from the studio, so gift wrapping and customization is available on request.
- Open Editions are printed and ship directly from the printing house in California. We never get our hands on these before they reach you, so we can't gift wrap.
