Open Edition Fine Art Prints
Open editions (print-on-demand) offer the widest selection of subjects, sizes and surfaces. These ship straight from my printer to you, so please allow about couple of weeks production and transit time. You can optionally mat and/or frame it as you order. All surfaces --paper, canvas, metal, acrylic-- are high end, lasting fine art materials.
Each Open Edition print is a custom order: choose the surface & size the art to fit your wall and budget. Optimal sizes are listed; larger sizes on request. While very large sizes might lack the crisp detail of a smaller edition or enhanced print, this is a non-issue when viewing art a few feet away. Give me a shout if you need help.
If available, the original or limited edition (enhanced prints & signed editions) will also appear beside an image description.
Our largest and most affordable collection of art offers many options. Here are some hints to help you navigate:

- Available sizes vary with each surface
- Is this a GIFT? If time is critical, Request a hand-written notecard of that artwork to announce your gift. I'll explain it's being produced especially for them, then snail mail it to you or the recipient! We can't gift wrap the print or enclose a note, however, because it ships straight from the printer to your specified address.
Tips on Selecting a Surface For Your Print: Selecting a surface will replace the artwork's picture with one showing it on the selected surface!
- smooth fine art paper: the default surface, heavy, archival, elegant and traditional (frame under glass or acrylic)
- watercolor paper: acid-free; heavy and textured, ideal for reproducing watercolors or as an affordable substitute for canvas (frame under glass or acrylic)
- canvas: museum grade; textured & coated with a protective finish; wired & ready to hang as is
- More expensive than paper, but doesn't require framing as the image is "mirrored" around the sides.
- Can also be framed, but no glass is necessary
- matte surface with little to no reflection
- metal or acrylic is modern and sleek: pricier but doesn't need protected by a glass coveringā
- order metal with no backing (this is a printed metal sheet that can be framed or propped on a shelf) or with backing and wired for hanging
- framing options are available (no glass needed)
- wood: sealed and ready to hang, doesn't need framing
- colors will not be as vivid on wood, but the rustic look can be be stunning
A Word About Reflections, Installation and Style:
- Glare from lots of windows? Prints on paper must be framed under a protective glazing surface (fine art acrylic glazing is automatically included if you order your paper print framed). Ordinary glass or acrylic glazing captures reflections. On small pieces this is insignificant, but may distract from large art or art in a room with lots of glassā
- Stop the Glaring: Custom frame your paper print on paper under non-reflective glazing: museum glass, clear anti-reflective glass, or TruVue museum acrylic . None of those are available on-site. How to do this? Order "Just the Print" and let a local framer do the rest. Or email Lindy for help.ā
- Avoid the Glaring Issue: prints on canvas or wood need no protective glazing
- What's your decorating style: Classic dictates canvas or paper. Contemporary loves metal and acrylic. Rustic enjoys wood. Use our wall preview tools to help you decide what works for your space.
- Outdoor installations, spa areas, kids' rooms? Go acrylic or metal.
- fit your budget along with your wall As you build your custom print, you'll be able to see how each option affects the cost. Think of it as a game and go back and forth all you want until you hit the perfect combination. Be sure to check the image and use the wall preview tools as you make changes. You can even see it in different frames!
- How big? Mats and frames add significantly to the footprint (wall size) of your art. Our wall preview tools display the art in the framed or matted dimensions -- even if the frame or mat doesn't display, the art will show true to that total size. A small print matted and framed can double in size on your wall.
